Soggy September day

I've been noticing that we're entering a new season - Autumn has arrived quickly this year, right now it's dark and rainy.

The rain though is a bit of a problem - a few months ago Elias, Joy and I got caught in a freak storm at school pick up time and he has been scared of the rain ever since. Not a good thing when you consider where we live, and bear in mind that it rains a LOT here! So he keeps going to the window and looking for the sun, and telling the rain to go away, and our trips out in the rain involves wellies, umbrellas, rain coats and lots of re-assurance!

Not only have I been noticing the change in yearly seasons, but a change in the stages our kids are at. Elias and Joy are now in the same school (although Elias is in the nursery for now) and that in itself is a big change. Joy is in year 3 already, and her teacher is talking about encouraging her kids to be more independent - oooh, they're still only 7! Plus Joy has been making new friends along our road - which opens up a whole new world to her for after school time.

This autumn, it's not only the colour of the leaves that's changing is seems!
