A great breakfast

We woke up to a pretty miserable morning, all grey and drizzle. Not really a day for plans outside. So thankfully we'd already settled on plans to go out for a nice breakfast.

We must have looked a little funny in raincoats - with Elias in Bob the builder wellies, but as we walked in to Cafe Rouge we were warmly greeted by the staff. Given a choice of where we'd like to be seated, Elias took the lead and directed us all the way to the back of the restaurant, we had the large room overlooking the patio to ourselves.

We perused a good selection of breakfast offerings and settled easily on choices we'd all enjoy. Our plates arrived quickly, and I was proud of just how many times the kids said 'please' and 'thank you', easily charming the waiter and waitresses. It was a real pleasure taking the kids there, they did some colouring activities with crayons and booklets provided by the restaurant and ate their fill, much to our delight.

It was really civilised! We left feeling like we'd had some lovely food, and a nice family time together. I recommend family breakfast at Cafe Rouge for a treat every now and then.
