Uncomfortable change

Perhaps those close to us know already - but maybe you don't - last week Robin was unexpectedly made redundant from his job. Any time this happens it feels like a bad time for it, we know, we're seasoned pro's, but this one was possibly the worst timed.

Having not been in our new house for even a full month, the news was rather unsettling as you can imagine. The news was met for me with a few tears, and a real feeling of loss of stability. Oddly, that moved quickly to plain old disappointment. And now, well, the almost familiar process of interviews, and Robin keeping me up to date on possible jobs. (though after a while it gets hard to remember which offers what) Each interview carries a load of stress, Robin prepares as best he can, I shine shoes. Our hope is that this time it will be over soon and Robin can be using his great skills in a job soon.

Having had a couple of months of enormous change, in a way it almost blends in with the others for me now - I have a house that needs wall paper stripping / painting / a garden needing landscaping etc etc, and kids to look after! Robin's 'job' for now is finding a suitable new job, and in the meantime he has some contract work starting tomorrow (certainly helps!)
